Excavator Attachments
We also offer a variety of Attachments to choose from such as: augers, grinders, demolition shears, rippers, hammers, rocksaws and many more: See our plant & equipment page for more information on our excavator attachments.

Experienced Operators
We employ only experienced machine operators, who have been trained in all types of excavation works from bulk excavations to more difficult projects such as those requiring detailed foundations and plumbing trenches.

Difficult Access or Confined Spaces
We can operate in even the tightest excavation spaces. Detailed excavation work can be carried out by hand or with our smallest excavator model the 1.8 tonnes. Perfect for those difficult rock-cutting projects or digging trenches.
Previous projects have required exhaust fans and moving machines into place and removing them with cranes. Our experience in this area really produces excellent solutions

Detailed Excavation
If you need Detailed Excavation, Mathews Contracting is the solution. We offer excavator attachments such as rock saws to suit many-sized machines to ensure accurate work.
Combined with our expert operators the result will be your site looking neat and tidy – ready for your builders to commence drainage or foundations.

Precision Site Cutting
This project called for a 22 tonne excavator and rocksaw attachment to get those clean edges cut into to the site in preparation for development of a new home.

Bulk Excavation
A range of various sized excavators enables Matthews contracting to remove large quantities of material as quickly as possible. Our fleet of trucks ensures that material leaves the site at the best rate to ensure the work progresses as fast as possible.
During our years of experience, we have undertaken numerous projects on very steep sites This experience is invaluable when planning these complex sites in order to get the sequence of material handling most effective to best manage the job.

CAD Technology
Our estimators use the latest CAD technology to accurately assess and plan your project. This enables us to calculate accurate volumes of material to be removed accurately straight from digital topographic maps and plans.

Xcentric Ripper
Have rocky or hard ground? We have a variety of machinery attachments for even the toughest ground. This image shows our 23-tonne machine with an XR20 Xcentric Ripper prepping the site for unit blocks. The Xcentric Ripper is a great tool for this type of rock breaking as it is a lot more productive and has been tested to be 50% quieter than rock breaking.
